This explains what information Clarity collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Malya LLC is responsible for the personal data described here.
1What we collect
Account details. Your name, email address, and the organisation and role you have in Clarity.
Your content. The photos, files, sites, measurements, notes, observations and comments you add to Clarity, including any location information they contain, and positions shared through Live.
Usage information. Basic records of how the service is used, such as sign-ins and processing activity. We use these to keep Clarity running smoothly.
Billing. On paid plans, billing contact details and payment history. Card details are handled by our payment provider and are never stored by us.
2How we use it
To provide Clarity, keep it secure, handle billing, and reply when you contact us. We rely on providing the service you asked for, our legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in keeping Clarity safe and working well.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
3Who we work with
Like most online services, Clarity runs on our own systems and on established cloud services. We work with a small number of trusted providers for things like hosting, storage, email and payments, and they only use your data to provide their services to us.
Background maps are loaded directly from a map provider, as on most map websites.
We only share your information otherwise when the law requires it.
4How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as it is needed to provide Clarity. Photos uploaded for processing are kept for a short time afterwards and then removed, and location history from Live is kept for a limited time.
You can delete your sites at any time, or ask us to delete your data. Some records, such as billing records, are kept for as long as the law requires, and backups are cleared out on a regular schedule.
5Where it is stored
Your data is stored and processed in North America, by us and our service providers. Some content, such as map imagery, may be delivered from servers closer to you so that it loads quickly.
If you are in the UK or EEA, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, when your data is transferred. Contact us if you would like more detail.
6Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Much of this you can do yourself in Clarity.
For anything else, email service@malya.io and we will reply within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EEA, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
7Cookies
Clarity only uses the cookies it needs to work, such as keeping you signed in and remembering your settings. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
We count visits to our public pages without cookies: which page was viewed, the website that linked to it and the type of device, under a code that changes every day. Your IP address is not stored for this, the signed-in app is not counted, and the counts are kept for 13 months.
8Children
Clarity is a business tool and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
9Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
